ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Republicans are urging President Obama to delay the healthcare mandate, saying the law hurts too many American families.
In the GOP's weekly address, Rep. Renee Ellmers of North Carolina, who is also a nurse, said the healthcare law will force many families to pay more than they're paying now.
Ellmers called on the Obama administration to repeal or delay the individual healthcare mandate, saying people should be able to keep their current insurance under the law.
"By canceling your insurance, despite a promise to let you keep your plan, the Obama administration is essentially saying it knows best for you and your family," said Ellmers. "Not only that, they're making you pay more, usually much more, and in many cases, taking away the doctors you've been seeing for years."
