A tearful and surprised Bea Rose Santiago is crowned Miss International - beating 66 other women in what is considered one of the "Big Four" of international beauty pageants.
Santiago, a fashion model from the Philippines, thanked those who came to help her nation after Typhoon Haiyan ravaged the region.
After winning, she dedicated her crown to her country.
SOUNDBITE: Bea Rose Santiago, Miss International, saying (English):
"This is for the Philippines. I love you Philippines. To my supporters, to my Mom, to Miss Araneta, the first Miss International who trained me, thank you so much. And to Japan. I love Tokyo. Thank you. Arigato-gozamasu ("Thank you" in Japanese)."
Santiago's win is the second Big Four crown for the Philippines this year after Megan Young won Miss World in August.
