Pop singer Selena Gomez canceled her upcoming Australian concert tour, saying she needed to take the time to put herself before work.
The 21-year-old former Disney star was to perform five concerts in Australia, beginning on February 1.
Texas-born Gomez, who has also branched into serious film roles, is set to tour Asia in January.
The singer had walked off stage earlier in December at a concert in Los Angeles after a sound malfunction and scrapped two concerts in Russia in September after visa complications, which critics say can be used to keep out Western artists who promote gay rights.
The busy star won an MTV Video Music Award for best pop video for "Come & Get It" in August and topped the Billboard 200 album chart for the first time back in July with her album, "Stars Dance."
