In Salt Lake City, yet another victory for gay rights advocates across the nation. Same-sex couples are lining up to receive their marriage licenses in Utah, after a federal judge struck down the state's same-sex marriage ban Friday. Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker officiated the first gay marriage. Groom Michael Ferguson shares his excitement. (SOUNDBITE) MICHAEL FERGUSON, GROOM SAYING: "I got out at the stop light and Seth was like, 'quick, run run run', so I was like, running across lanes of traffic to get in line over here...We got married! (laughter) We're husbands." One woman was overwhelmed with emotion. (SOUNDBITE) UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SAYING: "I'm really happy that I can finally marry the person I love. I never thought I would see this day come." Utah is considered a largely conservative state and the headquarters of the Mormon church. The attorney general's office has requested an emergency stay to stop the same-sex marriages. The ruling, if not stayed by a higher court, would make Utah the 18th U.S. state to allow same-sex couples to tie the knot.
