The aim is pretty obvious - drive up a ramp and try and jump over a line of 18 wrecks, without completely demolishing yourself and your car.
Competitors in southern England were judged on elevation, distance and crowd reception.
Clearly this driver scored crowd points for his spectacular wipeout.
At least he still seems okay.
Nobody managed to avoid the line of wrecks, except the winner, 19-year-old Jordan Tribury … who then proceeded to collide with the recovery vehicle.
And the secret to his roaring success?
SOUNDBITE: Jordan Tribury, winning driver, saying (English):
"You just foot to the floor, straight at the ramp, look at it, aim and hope for the best, that's it!"
No prize money for his success, but at least the teenager will have a great story to tell his kids one day.
