The yearly Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California drew in an estimated 700,000 spectators New Year's Day.
Millions tuned in to the televised event, which was carried live by stations across the country -- some, internationally.
Parade-goers enjoyed sunny skies and music from various marching bands.
(SOUNDBITE) UNIDENTIFIED PARADEGOER SAYING:
"I actually decorated one of the floats this year, so, yeah, it's an amazing experience."
The theme for this year's parade: 'Dreams Come True'. Sports broadcaster Vin Scully was the grand marshall.
But this year featured a float that was unique to the parade's 125-year history: a gay wedding.
Danny Leclair and Aubrey Loots exchanged weddings vows atop an enormous wedding-cake float.
