American slavery drama "12 Years a Slave" was among the 10 films nominated for outstanding producer of a motion picture in the Producers Guild Awards. Other films of note nominated for the honor were space thriller "Gravity," and 1970s con-men caper "American Hustle." The Producers Guild Awards will be handed out in a ceremony in Beverly Hills on January 19. The awards are a key indication of Hollywood sentiment ahead of the Oscars on March 2. James Avery has died. The classically trained actor was best known for his role as the wealthy uncle on the 1990s television comedy "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." He reportedly died from complications following a recent open-heart surgery. He was 65. A lawyer who revealed J.K. Rowling's secret thriller-writer identity has been fined more than 1,500 dollars in London for a breach of client confidentiality. The lawyer had told a family friend that Rowling was author of "The Cuckoo's Calling," originally published under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Sales of the novel sky rocketed after Rowling was outed as the author.
