Jan. 9 - The only surviving polar bear from a litter born at Toronto Zoo is healthy and taking its first steps, according to zoo officials. Tara Cleary reports.

This unnamed polar bear cub is the only survivor out of a litter of three born at the Toronto Zoo.
The male - seen here taking his first steps - is doing really well according to zoo officials and has already grown more than six times his original birth weight of 1.5 pounds or 700 grams.
For the time being at least, the cub will have a lonely existence as his mother has a history of rejecting and harming her young.
