SOUNDBITE BRITs Critics Choice winner, Sam Smith (English), saying: "I really wanted this award, like I don't want to beat around the bush, I watched it every single year and it's my, it was my dream to get it and I really worked hard and fought to get it." The Critic's choice alumni were out in full force with Tom Odell, Jessie J and Ellie Goulding all on the red carpet. Veteran David Bowie was another of the night's main stories receiving two nominations for his long-awaited musical comeback. The usual players were featured in the international categories including Katy Perry who is performing at the awards ceremony. However, controversial pop star Miley Cyrus, who dominated the music headlines of 2013. was a notable snub. The BRIT Awards will be held in London on February 19th.
