Clashes between Ukrainian protesters and police leave several people seriously injured. Fighting erupted after a court handed out a six-year jail sentence to three men accused of attempting to detonate a Lenin statue back in 2011. Supporters of the convicted men said the trial and the verdict were a sham. This man, who was sprawled on the ground, said he could not walk after being injured by police. Local media said members of parliament were among those injured in the clashes. Crowds have been demonstrating in Kiev since President Viktor Yanukovich rejected an EU trade agreement and embraced a bailout package from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Triggered by the use of force among police -- the demonstrations have evolved into an all-out protest against the government.
