Tourists making their way to the Machu Picchu ruins in Peru are blocked by a a rock slide, caused by heavy rains. Workers struggled to break apart a massive rock that was seven metres wide and five metres tall. Some tourists were forced to walk the remaining two kilometres up the mountaintop citadel, which lies about 2,400 meters above sea level. The site itself was not damaged by the rock slide. The 15th century Inca ruins of Machu Picchu attract about 1 million people every year.
