War rages in Syria. Amateur video which cannot be independently verified by Reuters shows no let up in the fight days ahead of a peace conference later this month. Even those who have fled the violence find cold comfort in camps -- like this one in Syria near the Turkish border. It's a place where people have lost faith in the international community ahead of the so-called "Geneva 2" peace talks later this month. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SYRIAN REFUGEE, ABU ALI, SAYING: "We have no hopes pegged on the Geneva 2 conference. Those of us here in the camp don't count on it, our faith is solely in God and His power." More than 100,000 people have died in the conflict that began with peaceful protests almost three years ago. One woman who fled the violence now wishes for her own death. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) FEMALE SYRIAN REFUGEE, UM OMAR, SAYING: "We are sick of this, we are tired, death is easier than this, we are asking for death but it eludes us. We are praying that we die so that we may rest from this hunger, from poverty, we don't even have any clothes. My children spent a week without water and food, and no one pays any attention." The International Committee of the Red Cross is paying attention. The head of the group is on the ground in Syria ahead of a U.N. pledging conference in Kuwait where donors will be asked to provide more help in a country where some of the survivors already fear they have been forgotten.
