They're the faces that made Sports Illustrated a household name.
Heidi Klum, Christie Brinkley and Tyra Banks were among the glamourous models to hit the red carpet, celebrating 50 years of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition.
SOUNDBITE: Model, Cheryl Tiegs, saying (English):
"Sports Illustrated models represent the girl next door, only pretty. They are not thin, for the most part they are very athletic and healthy. That is the image they we portray."
SOUNDBITE: Model, Christie Brinkley, saying (English):
"They take you to these dream locations where everyone would love to go and then they throw some beautiful girls in a bathing suit and then they wait until football is over so they got your attention now and slap it out there and there you go."
SOUNDBITE: Model, Heidi Klum, saying (English):
"I was always too curvy up here and down here. So, I never really fit into those type of clothes and I was always a bathing suit girl and I always loved to be cheeky in front of the camera and play with my curves."
SOUNDBITE: Model, Tyra Banks, saying (English):
"Being the first black woman, the first African-American woman was huge. When I got the phone call that I was going to be on the cover I was like, 'On the inside cover, the back cover, what do you mean?' I did not expect it. So, it was brave and fresh for them to do that."
The evening's celebration will air on NBC next month.
The 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launches February 18th.
