17-year-old surrenders in connection to Philadelphia school shooting

Jan. 19 - Rai-Sheem Rockwell, 17, surrenders to police in connection to Friday's shooting inside a Philadelphia high school gym. Jillian Kitchener reports.

Police have identified Rai-Sheem Rockwell as the 17-year-old who turned himself in after Friday's Philadelphia school shooting. Rockwell was charged as an adult with aggravated assault. Bail has been set at $500,000. Some of his neighbors say the charge may be too harsh. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEIGHBOR SHERIKA CRAIG, SAYING: "It's a sad situation on both ends." (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEIGHBOR ALICE MORGAN, SAYING: "It's scary. But I don't know him." The shooting happened Friday afternoon inside the gym at Delaware Valley Charter High School. Two students were hospitalized with gun shot wounds, but their injuries were not life-threatening. Investigators took a 15-year-old student into custody, but later released and completely cleared him. Another student turned himself in to police on Friday evening, but has since been released and was not charged.
