Bollywood megastar Priyanka Chopra was in London greeting fans on Monday (Jan 20) as she continues her mission to replicate the stardom she enjoys in India on a global scale. Chopra, who's the first non-caucasian model to represent the clothing brand Guess, visited the UK's flagship store to meet her fans SOUNDBITE, Priyanka Chopra, saying (English): "The fact that all these Guess girls before me were all these incredibly beautiful blonde bombshells and you have me, which, you know, which is, someone from India to, you know, be the face of Guess is walking towards the direction of diversity which I think is really cool because the girl next door doesn't look the same anymore." Chopra first rose to fame in 2000, winning the Miss World beauty pageant and transitioning into Bollywood film. Now she's also focusing on making music but Chopra isn't leaving acting behind -- she's currently working on a film based on the story of Indian female boxer Mary Kom. But she revealed training for the film was gruelling. SOUNDBITE, Priyanka Chopra, saying (English): "I got hit in the face many many times. I didn't take that into consideration when I signed the movie, I didn't realise that I'd be punched in the face that many times. But it's been an incredible journey to do the film." She's now heading back to India to finish filming, and hopefully not take any more beatings in the process.
