Jan. 22 - Marijuana industry groups say legalized pot dispensers are running low on affordable child-proof containters for their pot. Jillian Kitchener reports.

Since Colorado legalized the sale of recreational marijuana, owners were reporting running low on their product to meet customer demands.
Now there's a shortage of mandatory child-resistant packaging.
Officials say the packaging must meet public safety standards… meaning that it has been tested and only 5 out of 20 children can open it.
Some companies are now designing their own bags and bottles.

"Everyone has a different idea on what is compliant and what isn't. People think they are and they're not."
Pharmaceutical bottles or bags, which have a pinching and zipping mechanism, are approved.
Marijuana attorney Rob Corry:

"It's a very expensive plastic bag. 10 times higher than what it ought to be just because of the closure."
Many people in the industry say the cost of pot will likely increase, due to the expensive packaging.
