A slew of fans and a media frenzy surround the Miami Beach hotel Justin Bieber is thought to be staying at. His friend Chantel Jeffries left the hotel around midday on Friday, but there have been no Bieber sightings thus far. This profound attention is nothing new for the 19-year-old popstar. But this time around, the frenzy has everything to do with DUI charges that landed Bieber in jail. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KIKI ZANGER, 15-YEAR-OLD BIEBER FAN, SAYING: "I want to see Justin Bieber (reporter ask: why do you want to see him so bad?) Because he is awesome. I love him." The teen heart-throb was caught drag racing a rented Lamborghini in Miami Beach on Thursday morning. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JUDGE JOSEPH FARINA, BY VIDEO LINK, SAYING: "Mr. Bieber, you are charged with the following: DUI alcohol or drugs, resisting without violence and driving with an expired driver's license." If convicted, Bieber could face jail time of up to six months, although experts say he will likely get off with a lighter sentence for his first offense. Some fans already forgive him: (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED GIRL, SAYING: "Everybody makes mistakes. Nobody's perfect." (SOUNDBITE) (English) MATTHEW O'BRIEN, TOURIST FROM PENNSYLVANIA, SAYING: "I don't think he is a bad guy at all, I just think that everybody puts a spotlight on every wrong thing he does because he gets stalked everywhere he goes." A year ago, Justin Bieber became the youngest artist with five number one albums. He's had run-ins with the law this past year as well, but this latest offense appears to be the most serious.
