Bruce Springsteen brings his music and views to Africa. Riding high on the global charts with his latest album "High Hopes", the musician stayed true to his New Jersey working class roots and socially-conscious lyrics when answering media questions before the show in Cape Town, South Africa. SOUNDBITE: Bruce Springsteen, singer, saying (English): "I don't think society can remain together when economic differences and economic inequalities are so widespread. It's a real real problem in the United States and we know its a big problem here too. So it's become an issue over the last four or five months. In the midterm, for the first time I've really seen it begun to be discussed as something that could become an election issue, which is very very important." It is the band's first concerts in South Africa since guitarist Steven van Zandt led a campaign by rock musicians in protest against apartheid nearly thirty years ago. Springsteen and the E Street Band will play three concerts in Cape Town and another one in Johannesburg, before flying on to Australia and New Zealand on February 2.
