SOUNDBITE: Kozo Morishita, producer, saying (Japanese): "The original work of this film, the Buddha of Osamu Tezuka, is an extraordinary work which has been read a lot all over the world and evidently there is that but as well, Buddhism is a religion but at the same time it's a little like a philosophy, so there are a lot of miracles etc. but this work explains very simply what Buddhism is and I think its success comes from that." Director Toshiaki Komura says the second film differs from the first. SOUNDBITE: Toshiaki Komura, director, saying (Japanese): "With regards to the first film, the story is a lot more dramatic and spectacular. There are a lot of sudden developments in the second film which are going to develop the character of Buddha and therefore in terms of the story there is a lot more richness in the second part." Tezuka, has created manga and animation characters, including the iconic 'Astro Boy,' that have been known and loved by multiple generations in Japan and millions of fans all over the world.
