Jan. 28 - Pete Seeger, who helped create the modern American folk music movement, died on Monday at the age of 94. Linda So reports.

He was a legendary figure in America's folk music movement. Singer and songwriter Pete Seeger died of natural causes on Monday at the age of 94. SOUNDBITE: PETE SEEGER, SAYING: "I tell people nobody can prove a thing, but obviously if I didn't think music could help save the human race, I wouldn't be making music." Seeger became a strong voice for social justice protesting against wars. He was well known for his liberal politics and was even sentenced to prison for refusing to testify to Congress about his time in the Communist party. Seeger marked his 90th birthday with a huge concert in New York's Madison Square Garden.
