(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) INJURED RESCUE WORKER, ZAMEER AHMED, SAYING:
"We rushed to the site as soon as we heard about the first blast. As we were busy carrying out rescue work under the bridge of Board office, then someone threw an explosive at the checkpost from the overpass and it exploded near the wall of checkpost. I was injured and was unable to move. My colleagues brought me here."
No one has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
Karachi is Pakistan's financial heart and home to 18 million people. It typically sees about a dozen murders a day, a deadly combination of political killings, attacks by sectarian militant groups, and street crime.
