For those who want a softer version of the Super Bowl, there's always the Puppy Bowl!
Sixty-six pups from animal shelters in the U.S. and Puerto Rico gathered in a New York City studio last October to film the annual game.
Executive Producer Melinda Toporoff, says it's huge production.
SOUNDBITE: Melinda Toporoff, Executive Producer, Puppy Bowl, saying (English):
"We have over 21 cameras this year, 10 of those are GoPros. We're going to be recording over 100 hours worth of footage."
All was going well, until the referee cried foul.
SOUNDBITE: Daniel Schachner, Puppy Bowl referee, saying (English):
"Just a reminder this is the Puppy Bowl not the poopy bowl."
Showcasing cute puppies is just one part of the bowl; the other is to promote pet adoption from animal shelters.
And if you enjoy a good halftime show … the kitten cabaret is purrrfect.
The Puppy Bowl may not guarantee bone-crunching tackles, but you'll definitely see some touchdowns.
