Convicted murderer captured in Indiana

Feb. 4 - Indiana police captured convicted murderer Michael David Elliot, a day after he escaped from a Michigan prison. Deborah Gembara reports.

Michael David Elliot is back behind bars just a day after he broke out of a Michigan prison. He'd been plotting his escape, stealing a cafeteria worker's uniform. It isn't clear why the prison electric fence or motion sensors failed to stop him. But, now free -- he stole a car and took the female driver hostage. She later escaped and called police as he was pumping gas. He was captured by Indiana police Monday evening SOUNDBITE: SGT. RON GALAVIZ, INDIANA STATE POLICE: "It's a big sigh of relief people were walking around all day on pins and needles." Elliot, who is serving a life sentence after being convicted of killing four people, is expected to face additional charges including kidnapping and auto theft.
