Feb. 6 - Entire villages and towns in Bolivia are engulfed by flooding that has claimed at least 38 lives. Gavino Garay reports.

Flooding in Bolivia has engulfed entire towns and villages, and has affected more than 40,000 households. It's left residents hopeless, muddy and hungry. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) AFFECTED FLOOD VICTIM, RODOLFO MAYE, SAYING: "The most urgent need is food and water for the entire community and we need our animals to be moved to higher places." For now, aide helicopters are the only hope for some villagers -- and the Bolivian military doing what it can to reach out to those hit hardest. The flooding, caused by a torrential downpour, has killed at least 38 people. For these communities that depend on livestock, nearly 100,000 head of cattle are threatened by the rising waters, and 6,000 hectares of crops have already been destroyed. And forecasters are predicting more rain...
