Feb. 9 - Family and friends of Joan Mondale, the wife of former Vice President Walter Mondale who died on Monday at age 83, eulogized the woman known as ''Joan of Art'' for her decades of support for the fine arts. Gavino Garay reports.

Joan Mondale, the wife of former Vice President Walter Mondale, was remembered at a memorial service on Saturday in Minnesota.
The former second lady -- known as "Joan of Art" for her decades of support for the fine arts -- died on Monday at age 83.
She was the second lady during the Carter administration.
Former Vice President Walter Mondale, was joined by former President Jimmy Carter, Vice President Joe Biden and other friends and family.
(SOUNDBITE) U.S. VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN SAYING:
"I'll say your mother, your grandmother was one of the most remarkable, bright, gentle women I've ever known. She was the mother and the grandmother that everyone wished they had. And she's part of you, she's bone of your bone, blood of your blood, she will be with you until the day you die."
Joan Mondale's support for the arts spanned from her time in college, all the way up through her husband's terms as a U.S. senator, vice president, and ambassador.
She was known for filling the vice president's residence with contemporary American art.
