New York City has gone to the dogs - as it does every year for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Backstage was a frenzy of preening, blowing, combing and trimming before the judging began. And every owner hopes that their dog will take the city - and the competition - by storm. SOUNDBITE: Cindy, co-owner of Saxon, saying (English): "He absolutely loves coming to New York City. He has enjoyed the taxis. He has enjoyed the horses." SOUNDBITE: Colton Johnson, Swagger owner, breeder, handler, saying (English): "He's just a really cool dog. He's a neat dog to be around. He doesn't have a bad day." SOUNDBITE: Mo Hieronimus-Dimercurio owner of Gryf, saying (English): "He's a joy to be around. He's a really cool dog." This year, for the first time, mixed breeds were allowed to compete - in the first agility competition, which was eventually won by a border collie. At almost 3,000 dogs it's the largest field ever to vy for the coveted Westminster "Best in Show" title, which will be awarded at Madison Square Garden.
