ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Thousands of mourners attended the funeral procession on Saturday of a policemen who died of his wounds after a bomb blast late on Friday. The bomb exploded in Dair, north east of capital Manama, while police were on duty to control anti-government protesters. A second police officer is believed to have been seriously injured in the blast.
Meanwhile, 3 policemen were injured in separate blast on Friday that exploded from beneath a parked police bus. Police have arrested 26 people since Thursday (February 13) on suspicion of rioting and vandalism.
In contrast to recent unrest, tens of thousands of Bahrainis joined a peaceful demonstration along the Budaiya Highway on Saturday to mark the third anniversary of an abortive pro-democracy uprising led by majority Shi'ite Muslims. The Budaiya Highway links the capital Manama to the northwestern town of Budaiya.
The rally organized by the kingdom's main opposition al-Wefaq movement was one of the biggest staged since 2011.
