Northeast braces for more snow

Feb. 15 - Another winter storm could dump inches of snow on already battered Northeast. Linda So reports.

For neighborhoods in the Northeast still trying to dig out from a major winter storm this week, more snow is the last thing they need. SOUNDBITE: STEVEN LARAY, SUV BURIED IN SNOW, SAYING: "Just trying to get rid of it. Throwing it on the sidewalks, throwing it on people's backyards, throwing it on people's cars. It's ridiculous what's going on." But a second winter storm is heading for parts of the Northeast and could dump another 8 inches of snow. For drivers navigating icy roads and piles of snow, it's nothing but bad news. The winter weather wreaked havoc on the Pennsylvania turnpike. Heather Pasco was rear ended by a truck. SOUNDBITE: HEATHER PASCO, DRIVER, SAYING: "I looked in my rearview mirror, I saw him and I thought I was done. I mean, I thought I was done, the entire back end of my car is gone." SOUNDBITE: GERRY KERR, PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT, SAYING: "Normally the salt is filled up to here." Many cities have already depleted their salt supply. That could cause some real problems with winter being far from over. SOUNDBITE: GERRY KERR, PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT, SAYING: "We would have to actually physically close streets for the safety of the general public." The snow is also causing problems for homes and businesses. Firefighters busy responding to several cave-ins from the heavy snow.
