It's not everyday something this spectacular happens on Lake Michigan. Rare ice caves, some towering as high as 30 feet, have formed along the Eastern shore of the lake. Locals say it doesn't happen often, the impressive formations have only formed once in the last decade. SOUNDBITE: TOURIST CHRIS REER, SAYING: "We have never seen anything like this...and what's interesting is we were on Lake Huron two weekends ago and they had them on Lake Huron but they weren't anything as beautiful as these are." It takes strong winds pushing the ice from the lake up on the shoreline for the caves to take shape. Plenty of visitors are braving the cold to enjoy the breathtaking sight.
