United flight rocked by turbulence, five injured

Feb. 18 - Passengers on United flight 1676 say the turbulence hurled people around the plane, causing several to slam their heads on the ceiling as it landed in Billings, Montana. Deborah Gembara reports.

A United Airlines flight hit heavy turbulence as it landed in Billings, Montana on Monday. SOUNDBITE: Passenger saying: "I felt like the plane banked to the right a little bit, and then it felt like we got hit from the bottom." United flight 1676, which originated in Denver, began rocking violently. SOUNDBITE: Passenger Bill Dahlin, saying: "There was a lot of screaming, and a lot of hollering and things like that going on. One woman flew up and hit her head on a panel. There was another woman behind us and she was calling for her baby." Reporter asks: Like, she had lost her baby. Like it flew out of her arms?" SOUNDBITE: Passenger Bill Dahlin, saying: "Apparently. I didn't see it exactly." At least five people were injured including three crew members. They've been taken to a nearby hospital. United Airlines says they are investigating the incident.
