Feb. 20 - Lottery officials confirm the winning $425 million Powerball ticket was sold at a California gas station. Linda So reports.

The single winning Powerball ticket worth $425 million was sold here at the Chevron gas station in Milpitas, California, near San Jose. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOCELYNE GARCIA, WORKS NEAR WINNING STORE, SAYING: "I wish it was me." Jocelyne Garcia works across the street. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JOCELYNE GARCIA, WORKS NEAR WINNING STORE, SAYING: "My co-worker just called me right now. She said 'did you buy your ticket at the Chevron?' I was like, 'no.' She said 'Oh my God, someone just hit it there!' Crazy! Could have been me!" Wednesday's jackpot was the sixth largest in U.S. lotto history. Inside the gas station, the clerk on duty thinks he sold the winning ticket. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RAJ WINDER SINGH, CHEVRON CLERK, SAYING: "I was working for last 12 hours yesterday and it was a long and busy day. So, I think so, I'm not sure." (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED GAS STATION CUSTOMER, SAYING: "Unbelievable! So what do you get, like a million dollars or something?" For selling the winning ticket, the Chevron will receive a $1 million bonus. As for the lucky winner of the Powerball jackpot? (SOUNDBITE) (English) ALEX TRAVERSO, CALIFORNIA LOTTERY OFFICIAL, SAYING: "The lump sum will be $242 million before federal taxes. California doesn't tax lottery winnings." Two other tickets sold in California matched five out of the six numbers. One was sold in Modesto, the other in Southern California.
