The Oscars are just around the corner and preparations are already underway for the official after-party, which is better known as the Governors Ball. Press were invited to a preview of what celebrities and movie moguls can expect from the event, including a smorgasbord of delights courtesy of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. SOUNDBITE celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck, saying (English) "You know, this is a very exciting year, it's our 20th anniversary, so we decided to do the most famous dishes we did over the last 20 years, so we have a roasted salmon with ginger and black pepper, we have a shepherd's pie, lobster, grilled lamb chops, risotto with black truffles, potatoes with caviar, some tortellini with button mushrooms, and a lot of vegan and vegetarian dishes, so there will be something for everybody." However, it's not just extravagant food or the Oscar themed cake with a rotating tier, it's also about the setting according to Cheryl Cecchetto, the event producer. SOUNDBITE event producer, Cheryl Cecchetto, saying (English) "This year, we just felt like, there are so many people in high stress jobs so we really thought, 'let's create an environment that's really just lush, very relaxing, that has a feeling of romance." The champagne corks will be popped for real to celebrate the winners after the Academy Awards on Sunday March 2nd. And for the losers - they can still pick up an Oscar statuette.... and bite its head off.
