Maddie Bowman of the U.S. team isn't just a gold medalist -- She's the first winner in her sport, women's freestyle halfpipe's debut at the Winter Olympic Games. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. FREESTYLE HALFPIPE GOLD MEDALIST, MADDIE BOWMAN, SAYING: "I think, you know, we really showed that we were having fun. We loved what we were doing last night. We loved every trick, we loved watching our friends ski and at the same time what we're doing is not easy and we've worked so hard and so many months have been put into that one night. At the same time while we were pushing our bodies to the limit, we were having an absolute blast. I think the world saw that and I really hope that they saw that." The nose-ring wearing skier first put on a pair of skis at the young age of two. And while her round one score would have been enough for gold, she brought it up to 89.00 in the second attempt. Winning her a one-of-a-kind gold.
