Fans were left scratching their heads when it was announced that Russia's Adelina Sotnikova -- who stepped out of a double loop -- took gold. She dethroned South Korea's adored Yuna Kim, the defending Olympic champion. Kim is widely referred to in South Korea as their figure skating "queen." This fan couldn't understand why she took silver after what some are calling a "flawless" performance. (SOUNDBITE) (Korean) SOUTH KOREAN SPECTATOR, YOON JAY YON, SAYING: "There was nothing more that Kim Yuna could have done on the ice... It's a pain deep in the hearts of all Koreans, but we were more impressed by her maturity to accept the result. I'd like to thank Yuna for all the delights she gave us here for such a long time." But despite the fact that Sotnikova beat Yuna by 5.48 points, the South Korean Olympian walked away with her head held high. (SOUNDBITE) (Korean) 2014 SOCHI WINTER OLYMPICS FIGURE SKATING SILVER MEDALIST, KIM YUNA, SAYING: "I've repeatedly had said that I have no regrets. I'm satisfied with the fact that it's over and that I performed well on the ice." The seventeen-year-old Russian gold medalist pushed the score criticism aside. RUSSIAN OLYMPIC FIGURE SKATING GOLD MEDALIST, ADELINA SOTNIKOVA, SAYING: "When I finished my program, I only thought then that I finally did everything that had to be done. I skated both programs really well. For me in my head it was important that I did everything cleanly and skated well, skated with emotion. I felt my music, and also not long ago I didn't feel it that much like now." She is the first Russian to win a gold medal in women's figure skating.
