Unsettling news on the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara has students on alert. Police say a 19-year-old student was raped and severely beaten by several men over the weekend. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED STUDENT SAYING: "This is kind of like appalling. We all walk home alone at night. A lot of times you don't really think, you think you can make it, that you are going to be fine." Police say the attack happened near campus. The victim was able to return to her residence and tell her roommate. Authorities are searching for several suspects. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KELLY HOOVER, SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SPOKESPERSON, SAYING: "Right now, what we have to go on is that these suspects are described as Asian males; obviously, this is a lot for the victim to go through so we are working with her to try and get a better description and to find who did this." This is the second sexual assault in the area in the past week. Police say a man attacked a woman last weekend. The suspect in that case is still on the loose. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED STUDENT SAYING: "A good reminder that we are not all invincible. We do kind of have to worry about ourselves a little bit more than we probably want to." Police are asking the public to share any information that might help them. So far, no witnesses have come forward.
