Joby Ogwyn suits up in preparation for a practice jump in California. The wing-suit explorer plans to not only climb Mount Everest, but then jump off the world's highest mountain to Base Camp - a distance of 10,000 feet or more than 3,000 meters. Ogwyn is familiar with these peaks - he holds the record for the fastest Everest climb at 9-and-a-half hours and he is the first human to fly a wing-suit next to the mountain. SOUNDBITE: Joby Ogwyn, high altitude climber and wing-suit explorer, saying (English): "This is very, very big, very sophisticated big project with a million different moving parts; it's like a shuttle mission in a lot of ways. There are so many things that need to go right and so many things that could go wrong." SOUNDBITE: Joby Ogwyn, high altitude climber and wing-suit explorer, saying (English): "Well, I have certainly have had doubts at times about this project and others but I take calculated risks. I try to plan and think about every possible contingency and what the worst case scenario could be and think through that and fight through that." And judging from the smooth landing, the daredevil seems as ready as he can be for the first ever wing jump off of Mount Everest.
