ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday (February 26) praised Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's decision to veto a controversial bill that critics have called anti-gay and discriminatory. She credited Brewer with "recognizing that inclusive leadership is really what the 21rst century is all about," told students and faculty during a visit to the University of Miami. The measure, passed by the Republican-controlled state legislature last week, would have allowed business owners to cite personal religious beliefs as legal grounds for refusing to serve same-sex couples or any other prospective customers. But a number of major business organizations and some fellow Republican politicians had urged Brewer to veto the bill. Clinton was also about her own political ambitions albeit indirectly. Host Donna Shalala referenced Clinton's personal description on the website twitter. Clinton describes herself as a: "Wife, mom, lawyers, womens & kids advocate;FLOAR;FLOTUS, US Senator, SecState, author, dog owner, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, glass ceiling cracker, TBD. Can you give us some insight into how the "TBD" (shorthand for "To Be Determined") will play out?" Shalala asked. Laughing Clinton replied, "Well I'd really like to but I have no characters left." Asked about the unrest in Venezuela, Clinton said, "It is a country that is not being well governed. It is a democracy. No one would argue that it isn't but a democracy doesn't just mean an election . A democracy means a free press protecting the rights of opponents, protecting a free economy, you know, having an independent judiciary."
