While Viktor Yanukovich takes to the airwaves to declare he hasn't given up the fight for the Ukraine's future -- on the streets of Crimea, plenty have given up on the former President. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) SIMFEROPOL RESIDENT, TATIANA, SAYING: "I think he didn't live up to the nation's trust. And what happened now is in large part his fault. And even those people who believed in him, I don't think they will support him any more." Yanukovich said the seizure of airports by pro-Russian groups in Crimea was a perfectly "natural reaction to the action of bandits" in Kiev. In Kiev residents mock Yanukovich's as they listen to his address on a car radio. Yanukovich says he never instructed Ukrainian police to shoot at protesters. Just last week, more than 75 people were killed in two days of fighting. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) KIEV RESIDENT VALERY, SAYING: "This man has no dignity, shame or conscience. How will he look people in the eyes? And he dares to say that he is the president? The president must respect his people and love his people. But he loves only himself." Yanukovich said he would not take part in the May 25 presidential election in Ukraine, calling it illegal.
