Feb. 28 - A jury finds Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, not guilty of driving while impaired. Linda So reports.

Kerry Kennedy emerges from a New York courthouse with a smile, walking hand in hand with her mother Ethel Kennedy. It took a jury less than an hour to find the daughter of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy not guilty of driving while impaired by drugs. SOUNDBITE: KERRY KENNEDY, ACQUITTED OF DWI CHARGES, SAYING: "I really did have great, great lawyers and not many people would have access to that. We need to take a hard look at our criminal justice system in The United States to make sure it's really just." Kennedy was on trial for crashing her Lexus into a tractor-trailer after she mistakenly took the sleeping pill Ambien thinking it was her thyroid medication. Prosecutors argued Kennedy should have at some point become aware she took the pill and pulled off road. Defense lawyers say the D-A went after her because of her name. SOUNDBITE: GERALD LEFCOURT, DEFENSE LAWYER, SAYING: "You've got to wonder why an ill-advised prosecution like this was pursued. They concede this was an accident and nevertheless the pursued this case." SOUNDBITE: KERRY KENNEDY, ACQUITTED OF DWI CHARGES, SAYING: "I'm just feeling right now more than anything else unbelievably grateful." Kennedy is the ex-wife of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the niece of John F. Kennedy.
