Snowstorm makes a great excuse for massive Washington, D.C. snowball fight

Mar. 3 - While a snowstorm plagues a winter-weary eastern U.S., scores turn out on the National Mall for a massive snowball fight. Gavino Garay reports.

With a snowstorm hitting the mid-Atlantic region... A great excuse for a snowball fight in D.C. along the National Mall... That goal? (SOUNDBITE) (English) AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT, CHRIS AYERS, SAYING: "Try not to get hit as much as possible - kind of like I am now, but yeah, so...I guess this makes me a little more of a target." The technique? (SOUNDBITE) (English) GOVERNMENT WORKER, JILL GENTRY, SAYING: "My strategy is look at people who aren't wearing gloves, because they're probably not going to make the best snowball. Aren't you cool!" While the snow was enough to shut down the federal government and cancel more than 2,000 flights... A weather battle of a different nature in Washington, D.C.. National Weather Service says the storm dumped about 4 inches on the U.S. capital by early afternoon Monday.
