STORY: Saint Laurent's shimmering 60's-inspired ready-to-wear autumn/winter 2014 collection dazzled its Parisian audience during Fashion Week on Monday (March 3). Held in the ancient marketplace Carreau du Temple, the show opened dramatically with golden bars descending onto the catwalk, foretelling the metallic and sequin-studded clothing to be displayed. The models, full of character and attitude, wore a rock-chick style collection, with leather jackets and knee-length boots, attention-grabbing accessories and short dresses. A mini-skirt in a sparkling tartan pattern was paired with a shocking pink glittery handbag and a grey knit jumper. The audience was studded with French stars, including actresses Isabelle Huppert and Emmanuelle Seigner, who is also wife of director Roman Polanski, as well as fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Breaking with tradition during fashion week, Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane did not make an appearance at the end of the show.
