March 5 - After a night of revelry, a symbolic clearing of the streets in the early hours Wednesday morning kicks off the 40 days of Lent with anti-gay protesters. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Police officers clear Bourbon street at the end of Mardi Gras, marking the kick off of Lent. Walking in front of the group of mounted policemen were a several anti-gay protesters, wielding signs like "Homo sex is sin." Street cleaning crews worked into the early hours of Wednesday morning to clear up a night of debauchery and bead throwing.
