March 7 - Painkiller 'Zohydro' -- said to be 10 times stronger than Vicodin -- is about to hit the U.S. market, and it has doctors concerned. Gavino Garay reports.

A painkilling drug reported to be 10 times stronger than vicodin could soon hit the market in California. It's made of pure hydrocodone -- a powerful narcotic ... and it's been approved by the FDA. Doctors are concerned of abuse potential, because of it's ability to get users high. (SOUNDBITE) DR. JIM KEANY OF ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL SAYING: "This is now putting a new drug on the market where one pill will kill a child." (SOUNDBITE) DR. JIM KEANY OF ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL SAYING: "This is a drug dealer's dream." Researchers say that addicts who use opiates most frequently go to doctors and dealers to get their fix. (SOUNDBITE) DR. JIM KEANY OF ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL SAYING: "Other drugs are mixed with Tylenol. And, nobody wants to inject all that Tylenol because they know it will wipe out their liver. So the fact that this has no Tylenol. It's the perfect drug of abuse for drug users." This dad lost his son to prescription painkiller. (SOUNDBITE) JAMES KENNEDY SAYING: "There's no need for this drug... They gave him all 75 methadone, they gave him all 30 xanax and within 48 hours my son was dead." The FDA has taken measures to curb abuse, such as requiring the maker of the drug to educate doctors. Despite objections from experts, the drug is set to hit the market this month.
