March 12 - A judge in Louisiana frees Glenn Ford after almost 30 years on death row for a crime he did not commit. Nathan Frandino reports.

After nearly 30 years in prison, Glenn Ford is finally a free man. (SOUNDBITE) (English) GLENN FORD, FREED INMATE, SAYING: "My mind is going all kinds of directions but it feels good." An all-white jury in Louisiana convicted Ford in 1983 for a murder. (SOUNDBITE) (English) GLENN FORD, FREED INMATE, SAYING: "I was locked up for almost 30 years for something I didn't do." Prosecutors looking into court documents found new evidence that exonerated Ford, prompting a judge to overturn his conviction. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BURL CAIN, WARDEN, LOUISIANA STATE PENITENTIARY, SAYING: "Well certainly I feel bad for him, and certainly I'm sorry it happened, but also when you look at the case, everyone had good intentions and it was a mistake." (SOUNDBITE) (English) GLENN FORD, FREED INMATE, SAYING: "My sons when I left was babies - now they grown men with babies." Details of the new evidence that led to his freedom have not been released.
