Pop icon Kylie Minogue is back with her twelfth album. To celebrate the release, the Australian singer hit Facebook headquarters in London where she was quizzed by her fellow judge on the UK version of The Voice, Ricky Wilson about important things like why her album is titled 'Kiss Me Once'
SOUNDBITE Singer Kylie Minogue, saying (English):
"So I thought 'Kiss Me Once' for me it symbolized that as well because that's the beginning of something new, it's the first kiss that you don't know where it's going to take you. ("Oh I get it, I like it.") It's, it's exciting and it's scary and it's sexy and it's a number of things, so it made perfect sense to, to, and I thought we could do some good, a good album cover."
And talking of the album cover, Kylie with the help of a pane of glass and a lot of lipstick got some of her fans to try and recreate it.
Kylie has been releasing upbeat bubblegum pop for the past 27 years. However, the recording of this album came at a time when the pop princess wasn't feeling so upbeat.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SINGER, KYLIE MINOGUE, SAYING:
"A lot can happen in a year and a lot did happen in 2013 making this album, quite a bit of it was, was, you know, I wouldn't really like to go back there, so yes it's therapeutic, being able to go in the studio and just, you have to be so focused in the studio that you just forget about the outside world."
The album 'Kiss Me Once' is now on release with the lead single 'Into the Blue' already riding high in the UK charts.
