Gun fire can be heard, as fighting continued hours after a suicide bomb attack at an Afghanistan police station in Jalalabad.
Several people were killed here at the police post, which is close to compounds used by international agencies, such as the UN.
Officers say around half a dozen fighters were involved in the assault. Most have been killed but some fighters were still holding out.
The scores of wounded were taken to this hospital. The Taliban sent a text message to media claiming responsibility for the attack.
