A U.S. judge overturned Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage after a challenge by Jayne Rowse and April Deboer who'd been barred from adopting each other's children. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JAYNE ROWSE, PLAINTIFF, SAYING: "My heart is just jumping out of my chest right now." Friday's ruling after a nine-day trial makes Michigan the 18th state to legalize same-sex marriage. (SOUNDBITE)(English) DEBOER'S ATTORNEY, DANA NESSELL, SAYING: "I am so excited to stand before all of you today, and say that today, April and Jane's children and my children and the children of tens of thousands of Michigan residents will stand on par, equally, with heterosexual families all over the state." Federal judges in other states have also found bans on gay marriage to be unconstitutional. Same sex marriage advocates are also hoping to have similar success in Arizona, Indiana, Wisconsin, Wyoming and other states.
