A Palestinian mother says her final goodbye to her son. Twenty-four-year old Hamza Abu Alhija was a Hamas militant in the occupied West Bank. He was shot dead by Israeli forces during an early morning raid on Saturday in the Jenin refugee camp. Israel says he was wanted for plotting shootings against Israelis. This is the home in the ramshackle refugee camp where Alhija tried to hide during the raid. The owner describes the scene. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) OWNER OF THE HOUSE, AZMI HUSNIYA, SAYING: "We woke up and they were firing toward the house. And after an hour and a half they ordered us to leave the house and we did. My two children were injured and the house was almost destroyed." Two other Palestinians were also killed during the raid when protesters confronted the troops with petrol bombs. Fifteen people were reported injured. Outside the local hospital, Palestinian men vented their anger on Israeli army vehicles. The fighting was some of the worst seen in this West Bank neighborhood since 2002. Before the day was over, thousands of Palestinians attended the funeral for the three dead, chanting for revenge. The Palestinian Authority denounced the violence. It said it threatens peace talks with Israel just before a looming April deadline. But Hamas blamed the Palestinian Authority for Alhija's killing. As scuffles erupted in Jeruslamem near the end of the day, the fighting only highlighted rising tensions between the three sides.
