Magnitude 5.1 earthquake strikes Los Angeles

March 29 - No injuries or major damage is reported after a magnitude 5.1 earthquake rattles a wide swath of Southern California. Vanessa Johnston reports.

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake rattles suburban Los Angeles Friday evening. Reactions at Tony's Deli in Orange Country range from fear to excitement. (SOUNDBITE) (English) A WOMAN AT TONY'S DELI SAYING: "I was nervous. I got scared. I haven't felt a big one like that for awhile." (SOUNDBITE)(English) A MAN AT TONY'S DELI SAYING: "It was the longest earthquake I've ever felt. I've lived here my whole life. It just kept going and going and going. It was amazing! I'm sorry, I liked it." According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the center of the quake was outside the city of La Habra and hit at 9:09 p.m. And it was shallow, at a depth of only 1.2 miles. The Los Angeles police department says it has not received any reports of damage or injury.
