He's hinted at it before, but on Sunday, Jeb Bush said he'll make his decision whether he'll run for the 2016 presidential election, by the end of this year. The decision by Bush, whose father and brother both served as president, is highly anticipated. It follows on the heels of ambiguous answers, like this one from January: (SOUNDBITE) (English) FORMER FLORIDA GOVERNOR, JEB BUSH, SAYING: "Well I'm considering... I'm going to think about it later. I don't wake up each day thinking 'what am I going to do tody to make this decision?' I'm deferring the decision until the right time, which is later this year. And the decision will be based on 'can I do it joyfully?' Because I think we need to have candidates lift our spirits. It's a pretty pessimistic country right now. And, is it right for my family? So I don't even want to think about it until the right time, and that's later on." There are no declared candidates yet, but the race for the Republican nomination appears to be shaping up. A more moderate potential candidate, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, has been caught up in a political scandal that has made some Wall Street donors nervous about his prospects. And at times, the butt of jokes: (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED SPEAKER, ASKING JEB BUSH: "So anyway, just to clear the subject, when you were governor, did you ever close any bridges for traffic studies?" Officials in both parties expect Hillary Clinton to run -- and win -- the Democratic nomination. To which the prospect of a Bush-Clinton battle for the White House would be a dream matchup for many.
